Cat on a Hot Tin Roof charity night

Cat on a Hot Tin roof

ACLT, the leading leukaemia charity in association with Front Row Productions, producers of Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, are staging a special charity night fundraising performance of the critically acclaimed and Olivier nominated London West End production at the Novello Theatre, Aldwych on Monday, March 15, at 7.30pm.

The production features a dynamic cast led by Academy Award nominee and two-time Tony winner James Earl Jones, Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad, Olivier Award winner Adrian Lester and Tony Award nominee Sanaa Lathan.  The production is directed by renowned Emmy and Golden Globe Award winning director, actor and choreographer Debbie Allen.

The special charity event is being held in memory of Daniel De-Gale, who would have celebrated his 23rd birthday on Sunday March 14 (Mother’s Day). Beverly De-Gale, Daniel’s mother and charity co-founder Orin Lewis, are keen to highlight the event as a Mother’s Day celebration as well as a tribute to all leukaemia fighters, life givers and life saving supporters.

Stephen C. Byrd and Alia M Jones of Front Row Productions have recognised the important work of the charity and didn’t hesitate to get involved in supporting a special tribute concert last year in memory of Daniel at the Hackney Empire. To mark this special evening, the producers have arranged an on stage Q&A with the cast members after the show, with support from an invited audience of charity ambassadors and celebrities, including our patron Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York.

Stephen C. Byrd, declared: “The production has enjoyed an amazing response from audiences during this West End run and we were eager to put something back into a deserving cause as a huge thank you from the cast and everyone behind the production.”

Beverley De-Gale, co-founder of ACLT: “This is a wonderful opportunity for the charity and all our supporters and we are grateful for Front Row productions for giving us a platform to recognise Daniel’s life and his  immense dedication in raising awareness around bone marrow donation within Black and ethnic communities.”
