Become a Basketball Volunteer
If you are interested in sports this may be the volunteering opportunity for you. If you want to take a step on from playing basketball, to making basketball happen, this opportunity could help you progress.
It could help you on your way to become a future coach, referee or youth sports leader.
We don’t mean playing basketball, but all the other roles that go in to making it all happen: Working as a volunteer means you might be supporting or even creating new opportunities for young people to take part in basketball activities in your area.
There may be chances for you to co-ordinate leagues, support the running of a league or be the one providing coaching and support to players.
These are the sorts of tasks you can be involved in:
• Supporting a team with training and fitness
• Helping with kit management
• Promoting up and coming basketball games
• Acting as a steward at larger games
• Help in running a League
• Supporting basketball coaching or becoming a coach
• Setting up basketball sessions (where/when etc)
• Refereeing
• Supporting players
• Managing the scores
• Providing refreshments
